Malverde "Mi Palabra Special Edition CD/DVD" In Stores Now
Todos,
It is with great pride and gratitude that we announce the release of "Mi
Palabra" (Special Edition CD/DVD) Tuesday February 21, 2006!!
This is our first venture with our new home, Machete Music/UMG. Our vision
is shared with Machete Music president Gustavo Lopez, our A&R and dear
friend,Toy Hernandez (Control Machete/ Sones del Mexside Inc),
Jehova Chavez, Olga Gonzalez, Carolina Arenas, Luis Ayala and the rest of
our Machete family. That vision is to bring positive, uplifting music to
the masses. Musica con mensaje y proposito. Musica del Pueblo!!!!
The album was remixed and remastered by some of the best in the business.
It was mixed by legendary engineer Richard "Segal" Huredia who has Dr. Dre's
"Chronic 2001" to his mixing credits among other classic albums. We had it
mastered at Sterling Sound in NYC by Tom Coyne who has Common's "Be", Sean
Paul's "Trinity", and Destiny Child's "1's" under his belt to name a few.
The album now sounds as it was meant to sound.
The DVD is also an accomplishment in itself. The video for "La Bala" was
produced and directed by our family at Maximus Productions, Renzo Devia and
Naz Castellanos. Part of AIM-TELL-A-VISION, they are behind the nationally
syndicated shows American Latino, Latination and Sonidos, check your local
listings. We also enlisted awards winning UCLA Film School alum Joel Juarez
who produced and directed our Malverde featurette. He has won several awards
for his short films including being in the running for an Academy Award
Nomination for "Best Short Film" last year! We top off the DVD with live
performance footage from shows we've done in NYC, SF and of course LA!!!
With all these incredibly talented individuals taking part in this project,
it is truly a "Special Edition!" I ask for your support as we set out to
