- Leading the way as the premier forum in the Latin Rap, Reggaeton, and Latin Urban genre, the Latin Rap Conference, and its organizers have released the names of this year's panelists, many of whom are key players responsible for shaping the Latin Urban music space of today. These pioneers have been chosen by the LRC's Board of Directors to discuss the state of the Latin Urban format over four informative panels taking place on October 11th-12th at LQ's in New York City. Confirmed panelists include Sony BMG Latin Chairman, Kevin Lawrie, Atlantic Records Chairman, Craig Kalman, Hip Hop mogul Steve Rifkind, President of SRC Records, Machete/ Universal CEO Gustavo Lopez, New York's Hot97's Ebro Darden, UBO CEO Adam Kidron, Khool Aid of Los Angeles' Power 106 and the nationally syndicated Pocos Pero Locos, as well as leading executives from Mun2, AIM TV, Si TV, KLOL, Univision, and AOL Latino.
Through these substantive discussions, the LRC aims to continue its goal of fostering the growth, education, empowerment and development of good business practices in the burgeoning Latin Urban industry.

Media Panel:
Several new ventures have been launched in an attempt to define and service the growing new generation Latino market. This panel will focus on the progress and status of these ventures in television and publishing.
The Hispanic Urban Radio format:
It has been about 2 years since the emergence of Reggaeton in the United States. Its popularity has led to the creation of new radio formats like “Reggaeton Y mas,” “La Kalle” and “Latino” in most of the major markets. This panel will feature discussion among label promotion executives and programmers, and audience Q&A about where the format is working and where it is not, as well as the challenges the format faces.
Labels/Artist Panel:
Since the emergence of Reggaeton, Latin and Anglo labels have begun to recognize the need to have a Latin urban presence. UBO has emerged as an aggressive marketing machine, Machete backed by its parent Universal has become a market leader, SONY Norte and White Lion have teamed up in breaking dynamic new artists, Atlantic records has signed Tego Calderon and Steve Rifkind's Hip Hop power house SRC has aligned itself with Zion y Lenox. How have these ventures been progressing? Where is the business going? Where is the music going?
Digital Revolution:
How does the emergence of the Internet as a marketing and sales platform affect the Latin Urban genre? What opportunities are there for exploitation without the major labels?
The Latin Rap Conference will be hosted by talented poet, recording artist, actress and comedian, La Bruja. The LRC will also showcase both established and up-and-coming artists in the Latin Urban genre including Machete/ Universal recording artists Rigo Luna, Tres Coronas, as well as several soon-to-be announced special guests. The Latin Rap Conference is organized by Jesse Perez, p.k.a. Shysti of Sicko Records, Rich Isaacson and Jerry Blair of Fuerte Group, and David Rodriguez of Clear Picture Entertainment Group. The LRC has become the forum for The Latin Rap Coalition Board of Directors (a group comprised of the genre's top music executives, professionals, artists, and radio personalities) to discuss and take action towards the goals of education in the Latino community. Members of the coalition include Boy Wonder of Chosen Few Emerald Entertainment, Elias DeLeon (owner of Puerto Rico's White Lion Records), Gaby Acevedo, President of SRC Records and manager to Tego Calderon, Gustavo Lopez (President of Machete Records), the nationally syndicated Pocos Pero Locos founders Khool Aid and E-Dub, Rick Valenzuela of RikRaf Entertainment, Univision Radio's Pete Manriquez, John Lopez of Upstairs Records, DJ Kazzanova of New York's La Kalle 105.9, Mexican-American rapper Chingo Bling, and Toy Hernandez of Control Machete.
