May 1st marks the first anniversary of May Day 2006, the day Latino’s marched for peace and justice throughout the United States of America. Once considered the "Silent Giant", Latino’s are finally uniting in solidarity to show the dominate society that we will no longer be marginalized.

One of the few voices of our generation is Malverde, an intelligent (B.A. in Political Science from UCR) and gifted rapper from the Coachella Valley (Southern California) who deeply loves his Mexican culture and his people. He was there in the frontlines of the march wearing a Subcomandante Marcos t-shirt with literally millions of Mexicans and Central Americans walking behind in support. They marched valiantly from Los Angeles City Hall to Mac Arthur Park in the Westlake District. While walking in protest Malverde gave us an anthem to always remember that historic day when the people took over the streets of our city, the City of Angels...
